Eid Salat, Zakat al-Fitr, Zakat and giving to MCCP!

As-salamu alaykum community members,

I pray this message finds you all in the very best of states.

1) Eid salat will be on either June 15 or June 16th at the CONVENTION CENTER HALL “C” AT 9AM. Reliable moon visibility forecasts and qualified Muslim astronomers are indicating Eid will likely be on Friday June 15, but please stay posted for an official announcement.

2) Please remember to pay ZAKAT AL-FITR which is a minimum of $7.00 for each member in the family. We will be collecting at MCCP until Tuesday June 12, inshaa’Allah. If you cannot give to MCCP by Tuesday, please pay ZAKAT AL-FITR at the Convention Center before the Eid salat prayer begins.

3) Also, a reminder that the obligation to pay ZAKAT is due upon all Muslims who meet nisab (which means you have over 85 grams of gold or currently $3,552 remaining wealth after your expenses). Zakat is paying 2.5% on your wealth after expenses. You may give your Zakat to MCCP for distribution until Friday June 15 at Jumu’ah, inshaa’Allah.

4) We urge all community members to give generously to MCCP during these last blessed days and nights of Ramadan. We need all community members to contribute to sustaining our community center and programs. The minimum amount we need to obtain for the year is $43,000.00 inshaa’Allah. You can contribute directly by giving your donations at MCCP or online at mccpdx.org

May Allah bless you all, amin!
